Billet Plug Cable Cover

My engine does not have a plug cable cover when it was transplanted (possibly stolen). I have been driving the car for more than 1 year with this missing something feeling. It is not easy to search for a good bargain on hte B series plug cover. Carbon fiber unit cost RM280 (retail) and RM250 (2nd hand). OEM unit from chop shop is rare and quite pricey (More than RM120 for a so-so used unit). While searching online, I found a good deal. USD9.99 per unit in e-bay. The shipping cost is USD18. The price converted to MYR is 100.60 which is damn good deal for a billet CNC machined alluminium unit which was made in Taiwan/China. So i have it ordered. It reaches to my hands today. Now i need to find those 4 units of M6 "Acorn" hex nuts to complete the job. :)

Note: I use 2 cable tie to ensure the plug cable does not touch any of the hot metal surface and hold it in place.

There only 1 word to discribe this.
Boy racer "RICE" man "RICE".

You can get this color on spray can too and give your VTECH cover the same shade.

Guys..this is the first step for Vince to get his engine bay tidy up. Let's give him some encouragement. Hehe. After he fully service and clean up the engine bay, it will look better. Hehe. But his ride is more heavy now coz the cover is more heavy compare to OEM or original. Haha.

I do agree that this does not look good at the current paint scheme, but it is very good bargain. Let me know if you can get cheaper than me :).
It will be more RICE after i paint the valve cover to match the magenta/red plug cover.
Thinking of lime green or luminous green. Will look for the paint and stripper price soon :).
Maybe next month DIY project.

In case you don't notice, what ever item i use is normally functional and lasting. This cover with the anodize coating can help to disperse heat and prevent the plug area from becoming dirty. As far as i am concern it is working quit well and the fitting is excellent. Of course have to sacrifice a bit for the weight as aluminum is more heavy by a few HUNDRED grams la.....

It is easy to maintain too, oil or dust will just get wiped off in one go.

So just wait for the valve cover to be painted la..... (My car looks damn ugly too before painted to liquid orange, but now it really stands out fine. Ha ha ha

Rosso,

Sadly my engine is not the type R... So if i paint it RED, it will look real RICE. At lest I still have uniqueness by different color than original :)
