Story of the Ant & The Grasshopper

This is a good analogy!

Older Version
The Ant works hard in the withering heat all summer, building its house and laying up supplies for the winter.
The Grasshopper thinks the Ant is a fool, and laughs & dances & plays the summer away.
Come winter, the Ant is warm and well fed.
The Grasshopper has no food or shelter so he dies out in the cold.

Modern Version
The Ant works hard in the withering heat all summer, building its house and laying up supplies for the winter.
The Grasshopper thinks the Ant's a fool, and laughs & dances & plays the summer away.
Come winter, the shivering Grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the Ant should be warm and well fed while he is cold and starving.
TV1, TV2 & TV3 show up to provide pictures of the shivering Grasshopper next to a video of the Ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food.
The majority of the Parliament are stunned by the sharp contrast. How can this poor Grasshopper be allowed to suffer?

KJ stages a demonstration in front of the Ant's house.
Nazri goes on a fast along with other Grasshoppers demanding that Grasshoppers be relocated to warmer climates during winter.
The Government immediately passes a law preventing Ants from working hard in the summer so as to bring about equality of poverty among Ants and Grasshoppers.
Hisham makes 'More Special Reservation' for Grasshoppers in Educational Institutions & in Government Services.
The Ant is fined for failing to share 30% of his food with the Grasshopper.
PM announces that this is part of the NEP. Every ant must not question it.
Many years later...
The Ant has migrated to the US and set up a multi-billion dollar company there.
100s of Grasshoppers still die of starvation despite the 'Special Reservation'.
Losing lot of hard working Ants and feeding the Grasshoppers, Malaysia is still a developing country.
All because the ANTS are still doing their work .............................
I wonder how long can this last..... when all the Ants leave........

Bukit Antarabangsa Land Slide : PM comment.

Taken from TheStar,

Don’t blame others for mishaps, Pak Lah tells Selangor govt

JAKARTA: Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has hit out at the Selangor Government for apparently trying to wash its hands of the Bukit Antarabangsa landslide tragedy.

The Prime Minister said the Pakatan Rakyat government should accept responsibility and correct any mistakes or weaknesses which have occurred.

“This is not the way to govern – taking credit only for the good things and blaming others for the mishaps.

Danger sign: A tree at the edge of the landslide at Jalan Wangsa 9 in Bukit Antarabangsa was uprooted Thursday, signalling that the soil is still unstable. The flattened bungalows are at the base of the hill while the Impiana Selatan condos can be seen at the bottom right-hand corner. — ABDUL RAHMAN SENIN / The Star

“As the new state administration, they should improve on all aspects and take things in their stride,” he told the Malaysian media here when commenting on claims by Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim that a total of 99 risky hillside projects were approved by the previous government.

Abdullah said there was no need for him to teach the present administration how to do their work as they should be fully aware of what was good for the people.

When I read this, I was really amused. Is this how a Prime Minister gives his comment? What do you mean wash hand? PR has done more compared to what BN has done. BN is the one who approve the permits for the constructions, now that it has crashed and killed someone then the responsibility falls to PR? (Who is washing hands here, please don't treat us like 3 year olds.)
PR have so far managed to prevent any loss of life on the land slide and is able to provide proper help to those in need, warn those who are in danger and found the idoits who approve such lousy works. This is what I called responsibility.

So please tell us Mr PM, what has BN done for these people? What have you done, did you even visit the site? Please be a responsible PM for a few more months to come. Bye...
Guys please learn from SK Koh on how NOT to become a SORE LOOSER.....

DR. M Legacy? I think not!

From TheStar,

Mukhriz: I did not call for schools to be closed down

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir has clarified that he did not call for vernacular schools to be closed down.

”I said the system should be one. I don’t think the issue of closing schools arises. That is the last thing I want,” he said when commenting on the flak he received after it was reported on Monday that he had called on the Government to abolish the vernacular school system to enhance unity among the people and that a single school system was the only way to check racial polarisation.

“The school remains the same physically and it is the system that needs changing where the medium of teaching would eventually be one, which is Bahasa Malaysia, except for Science and Mathematics,” he said, adding that it would include religious schools.

On the Opposition saying that he was trying to win votes, he said there were certain statements that went against BN’s position, such as the issue of ketuanan Melayu.

Many political leaders from the Opposition and Barisan Nasional had hit out at Mukhriz for blaming the vernacular school system as the cause of a polarised Malaysian society.

MCA vice-president Datuk Liow Tiong Lai said the present school system was still the best and such methods had been accepted quite well by all races.

He added that the multi-streaming school system didn’t stop students of various races from mingling together as Malaysians.

“It’s old thinking that the multi-streaming schooling process will cause issues concerning racial unity,” he said.

Deputy Education Minister Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong said: “Language alone cannot be deemed as the main factor for national unity. It should entail mutual understanding, sincerity and respect among all races.”

Dr Wee also expressed his regret over Mukhriz’s proposal to have a single stream school system and pointed out that many non-Chinese students were studying in Chinese primary schools.

MIC president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu said Mukhriz had violated the provisions in the Constitution, which protected the position and rights of vernacular schools.

He said that with Malaysia being a liberal country, he would expect a modern mind and right thinking to prevail.

DAP veteran leader Lim Kit Siang said Mukhriz had committed a seditious offence by questioning one of the four sensitive issues entrenched in the Constitution and he could be disqualified as an MP if convicted.

Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said; ”It is not right for him to fish for votes to win the Umno Youth Chief seat.”

PAS deputy president Nasaruddin Mat Isa said it was the right of each race to be educated in their mother tongue.

PKR adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said Mukhriz wanted to appeal to the extreme Malay views to win the Umno election.

This is very saddening. He will never succeed as what his father can do with this kind of mind set. This is the kind of mind set which brings Indonesia down to their knees where all the 'other' races fled the country leaving it in economic paralysis. Mukriz may not be the one after all. KJ may have an advantage, if he knows how to use this opportunity.
