New Kicks....

Finally got my shoes replaced. I bought the Asics Gel-1150 and gets the Puma SL Tech as gift (thanks to my Dearest Better Half ).

Asics Gel-1150: I have started to use the Asics and found it great for running and moving around (It is a running shoe so it is expected). I tried it when driving and found that these are not suitable for driving. They are too plushy and less sensative. It is designed to absorb impact when running so this is the payoff. I will use these for running or Gym. These shoes is really light and comfortable when compared to Brooks, Reebok and Nike (at same price range).

Puma SL Tech: I have just tried these in the shop and all I can say that it beats the crap out of Adidas (at the same price range). They feel comfy to be able to walk around and the grip is quite good. I will start to use these tomorrow and will update the experince. I have checked numerous online review and comment and all of them is saying these are very good for driving so lets see tomorrow. These weight just about 10 oz and they are the lightest sneakers that I have ever owned. I love light shoes and sandals.

Wheel Stand.

The G27 wheel, i know that a wheel stand is needed. After some online checking, i found that most after market wheel stand does not come cheap! One of the most popular is the WheelstandPro which cost about RM600.

I checked online for some DIY wheel stand and those do look good. But building one will not be easy as the material needed is difficult to get and i do not have a lot of wood work tools.

I managed to find good desk which is then moded to have a gear shift lever mount. This is what i got for under RM60 (this is 10% of the Wheelstand Pro price.)

Now that the steering wheel is well mounted, i can start to learn use it properly.

GT5 Titanium BLUE

Finally I get my long awaited Goodies. I have started to Play GT since PS1 was in the market and kept on playing until GT4 in PS2. After much awaiting GT5 finally released with PS3 and this ticked me off to get the Special Titanium BLUE set. As per all the GT series played, GT5 is the current BOMB, realistic and my guess it those Battle Gear machine at Jusco will be swapping flies.

Dinner at Puchong "Tak Fok" Crab

We went to Puchong yesterday and have dinner at "Tak Fok" which specialized in "Cheese Crab" and also "Salted Egg Crab". They have other on the menu such as fish but one more is worth pointing out is their Homemade Tofu which has very good topping. Better to book early because this place will be jamed packed by 7.00pm. We were there at 5.30pm and waited for my wife's cousin until 6.15pm before confirming the order. The service there is quite good althou they have their hand's full. The price is quite acceptable.

Radiator Cap 0.9 Bar, 1.1 Bar or 1.3 Bar (1bar=1kg/cm2)

I notice that the water resevoir is always empty even I keep filling it up. I was wondering if there is any leak. A check finds a damaged radiator cap. I have been using this SARD 1.3 Bar (kg/cm2) cap since 3 years ago.

So I dig up the web to find the replacement; in short:
1) Radiator cap it a control valve that raises the boiling temperature point of the car cooling liquid keeping the coolant in liquid form under higher operating temperature.
2) 1.3 Bar (19 lbs) Cap: Valve open when coolant liquid hits 153 degC.
3) 1.1 Bar (16 lbs) Cap: Valve open at 127 degC.
4) 0.9 Bar (13 lbs) Cap: Valve open at 100 degC.

Naturally most people will choose to have the 1.3 Bar (as what I did before) which result that the coolant can still remain in liquid from at 153 degC (radiator + cooling system can operate at higher temperature before valve opens).
In actual condition of normal street driving (some short sprint) we rarely hit water temperatures above 120 degC. For track, it would be different story/game as we tend to push the car at the limit for long time. So for me, I downgraded the Cap from 1.3 Bar to 1.1 Bar.

Reason is:
1) I do not need my car cooling to work at 153 degC, if it does then the cooling system is need to be changed (Radiator, hose, water pump) to lower down the temperature (operating at high temp is NOT good for your engine due to possiblity of parts wearing to knocking issues).
2) The radiator cap does not help to improve the cooling rate of the system temperature, it only force the system to work at higher temperature.
3) The car cooling system efficiency improvement requires upgrade of High capacity Radiator, Silicon Tubes, Bigger water pump, better Fan + etc (basic items).
4) Very important... it is CHEAPER! :) LOL!

Note: Using a high pressure CAP in normal system and if the temperature ever hits above 140 degC; it would be a problem as the system is operating a over temp and component wear will be critical, the tubes may burst causing a disaster if you are pushing the car hard. Using a lower temp 1.1 Bar is safer as the raditor Cap only permits the system to be operated at max 127 degC.
(0.9 Bar is not really commended as it too close to normal operating temp, causing the valve to open too early and reduce the cooling capacity at normal use).

It is highly recommended to install an after market Water Temp meter to know exactly how hot is your engine coolant is running. (Below 100 degC is good, best at 90 degC but almost impossible to hit at hot days) (Above 100degC needs caution; and if it ever goes to 110~120 degC, it is better to slow down the car at "lower rev" and let the system cool)

Suspension Bush Change and Retune.

I screwed up the setting for the GAB SS when it was intalled a few months ago. I knew something is wrong as my car is bouncing every time the road is not even (not normal). After 2 months of seaching the Web, I finally found the mistake. I set the pre-load for the spring too high. It was supposed to have 5mm compression only and I actually set it to 1.5 inch compression during the 1st setup. So the spring is compress too much and not able to absorb the bumps. After correcting the compression, the spring now flexes properly and the ride have a better road hugging feel (instead of jumping around :)).

I took this chance to change the Absorber bush from Composite fiber type (WHITE) to PU rubber type (BLACK). Composite fiber is lighter but when it degrades, it will become fiber dust which can actually intrude and damage your absorber shaft. PU will not degrade but it is much more heavier.

My mechanic also help to tie the dust boot with cable ties to ensure the shaft is well protected from sand and dust intrusion. My setting now is Front 16, Rear 14 (soft = 0, Hard = 32).

The ride Height has been adjusted to 2 fingers all four corners from wheel arch to tyre.

Gear Linkage Bush (Hardrace)

Finally get to have the Hardrace Gear linkage bush installed into my car. The Kit comes with a new shifter Boot. Now the gear shift is much more accurate and more smoother (no more need to seach the gear by wriggle shifter and also much less prone to miss-shift). Really worth the money spent.

Sunday Project (Pedal)

Did on Sunday 31 Oct 2010. I notice that new pedal is needed when one of the rubbber pedal covers dropped off when I was driving, lucky that I am used to small pedals at "Kenari aka Dihatsu Move".

I have went around to find a suitable pedal and finally the set was found. It is the same design and manufacturer that I used on my "Wira aka Mit Lancer" 7 years ago. The unti is going last as long as your car can.

The unit came with clip bracket but knowing that Rivet is more reliable, I decided to rivet it. Diy steps per below and picture per order:

1) Original Pedals.

2) Look that the tear.

3) New pedals (I rubbed off all the printing "Type R" with thinner as by experiance i know it will look ugly when some of it start to come off due to wear in the future).

4) Some Double sided tape is applied to the new Pedals.

5) Stick the unit to the car's pedal (Temporary for placing location confirmation)

6) Drill and Rivet the center hole to hold the part in place while need to see the light.

7) Bog wood need to be used to prevent the Gas pedal from being too close to car chasis. (The drill bit may hit the car if too close to the firewall.)

8) Complete Assembly.

Finally i managed to get some time to practice 3D solid modeling. Hopefully i will be able to learn in faster speed and able to apply my new learned capabilities.

Soon i will no longer need to wait for a long que to close my items :)...... hahhahahaha

It is best if i am able to model my car, by then i would already be an expert (hopefully).

Ah... the memories......

Today is the first time I play RTS Online against human after 10 years. Finally I am getting some of the old touches back. :) My 1st RTS game WIN after 10 years.

I bought the game at KL on 5 Sept 2010. It is the original box set and it is worth every $ spent on it. The graphics is marvelous and the storyline is good. Good job Blizzard!

It was 10+ years ago when I was 1st introduced to STARCRAFT by my Senior in UKM. It was the first time I played RTS (Real Time Strategy) game with a human (my senior). We linked 2 PC using modified printer cables to play the game.

Human is a factor which is the most interesting part of the game, anything can happen and we tried to guess each others strategy and combat it.

I was walking around in a Target store, when I saw the lady in the cashier hand this little boy some money back.The boy couldn't have been more than 8 or 9 years old.

The Cashier said, 'I'm sorry, but you don't have enough money to buy this doll.'Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him: ''Nanny,are you sure I don't have enough money?''

The old lady replied: ''You know that you don't have enough money to buy this doll, my dear.''
Then she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went to look around for a cheaper one. She left quickly.The little boy was still holding the doll in his hand.Finally, I walked toward him and I asked him who he wished to give this doll to.

'It's the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much for Christmas.She was sure that Santa Claus would bring it to her.

'I replied to him that maybe Santa Claus would bring it to her after all, and not to worry.But he replied to me sadly. 'No, Santa Claus can't bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mummy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there.'His eyes were so sad while saying this. 'My Sister has gone to be with God. Daddy says that Mummy is going to see God very soon too, so I thought that she could take the doll with her to give it to my sister .''

My heart nearly stopped.

The little boy looked up at me and said: 'I told daddy to tell mummy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the shops.'Then he showed me a very nice photo of himself. As I saw the old lady returning, I left with my basket as to not cause a scene.I finished my shopping in a totally different state of mind from when I started.I couldn't get the little boy out of my mind.

Then I remembered a local news paper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young woman and a little girl.The little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical state.
The family had to decide whether to remove the life-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma. Was this the family of the little boy?
Two days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the news paper that the young woman had passed away.
I couldn't stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was for people to see and make last wishes before her burial.She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest.
I left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that my life had been changed for ever.. The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is still, to this day, hard to imagine.And in a fraction of a second, a drunk driver had taken all this away from him.

Exhaust upgrade

I finally got a chance of getting the Hotbit muffler installed. It is a straight flow muffler with part number HBM180P. The unit is painted with charcoal Grey which is some left over paint when i painted the engine valve cover. Initial feel of this muffler is very quiet (even more quiet than the s-flow i have), i almost can not believe a straight flow muffler can be so quiet. The RPM response is so much smoother and linear which is what i wanted.

My 10 year old faithful PC have finally take a good rest after the motherboard failed early this month. I was deciding to buy a PC, a laptop or just use my dear's laptop. I have tried for 2 weeks to use my dear's laptop but finally i think i should get my own PC.

I get to choose my own hardware this time and insisted to have a better setup than the last one.

Check out the Size of this thing. I has SMT and Selective Wave soldering process to ensure temperature control and no manual hand soldering. It also have Gold Finger protector and I am very sure one of the director in the company i worked for wants it really badly. Now i got no excuse so i will use it as a sample for process improvement... sigh.. why do i have to talk about work when blogging? (Our Japanese customer audit is really driving me nuts...... need to release tension).

Filter Upgrade K&N

Finally I am getting a Filter upgrade. So let the picture do the talking.

The filter came pre-oiled but it seem to be not enough, so I added some oil from the cleaning kit (see below)

Note: One problem seen is that the Filter charger does allow more air to flow thru it. Now the CAI that I DIY is some how felt restrictive and need some modification to allow more air mass to go into the filter charger.

Battery Kong!

1 July 2010:

My ACDELCO batter finally went dead after nearly 3 years of service. Take note on the Negavite terminal connection. A piece of lead is added as the el-cheapo way to enlarge the terminal. (The original car terminal is Large diameter which the Japan spec half cut wiring is using a Small diameter connector.) Wo when i get my battery replaced my mechanic went to half cut shop and get me a proper negative terminall connector (Small diameter) from a toyota AE111. It fits perfectly and has additional wire for grounding (Toyota cars always have better grounding setup).

My new replacement battery is from South Korea (Rocket Brand). At about half of ACDelco battery price, i think this is worth a try as it is also a true MF (Dry battery). The reason i start liking the MF batter is because you will never get a battery water stain on the hood.

My Hit absorber KONG!

On 26 June 2010:

After about nearly 2 years of service my HIT HI-LOW absorber kit has leaked on the rear driver side. (One is leaking and the other is still ok) (The repair cost for One Pair is RM 400 without warranty is not worth the risk).

It it time for change. After reviewing the options and budget the below unit is picked (thanks to Jimmy aka Podz experince with it ) GAB SS Series for Honda EG.

The final height adjustment

per below picture and soft har for all 4 is set at 18 (comfort drive). If

need more stability, i think at least a setting of 8

and above is mandatory. The downside of the harder setting is the car will have

to absorb more impact to the body if the road is uneven.

Project SR4 Update.

It has been a while since there is an update on my ride. Since i have got the car 2 years ago, it has a very annoying "Tick" "Tick" "Tick " sound when the engine reved over certain RPM. Since then I have been doing some online research and found out that the most Possible Culprit is the LMA. The Old design of Honda LMA have a tendency to have a problem with insufficient spring tension to push the VTEC Roker arm resulting in some interference of knocking in the engine.

Finally I took up the courage to go ahead and have it changed as i am very positive that the sound is caused by the LMA. So I bought 8 units of LMA (New Design is acutally a Large Spring).

LMA in pakage and kept submerged in Engine Oil before use.

Last weekend is the limit of my car mileage to change the Timing Belt, Engine Oil and Transmission Oil. So I took the opportunity to have the LMA repalced to solve the problem.

One Unit of OLD LMA removed and the next picture show that the new LMA already assembled into the Engine.

Buddha Jump Over the Wall

It has been 3 months since the last update. I was rather occupied with workload and family matter that i seldom go online to update this Blog.

May thing have happen during this period of time but i can only share some of it (worth sharing).
One of it is "Buddha Jump Over The Wall". This is a traditional Chinese Meal which is served to the Emperor of China. It rumored to be so good that Buddha (Monks) will jump over the wall to get it. My team mates manage to gather 13 people to enjoy this dish (Minimum is to have 10 ppl because the size of this dish is BIG and filling. This is a full set meal until desert but i wll only share some of the key dishes here.

The Main dish is a Pot of sea treasures cooked with Ginseng. It has 3 layer of different variety of sea food such as Shark Fin and Sea cucumber. It was also served with Abalone dish. This meal is good and given a chance, I will definitely go for 2nd round (But we need to gather 10 people again).

Hood (Bonnet) Latch

Recently my friends Podz and Metropro told me they are getting the D1 Spec Hood pin latch. I was wondering after all these years why suddenly they do it? Tehn finally they let the cat out. Their friend have a mishap recently due to the hood (bonnet) pops open when driving on the highway, it was mentioned that the problem is quite serious. Hood, windscreen, roof all damaged and need to replace, but that is all money issues. He is lucky that the car did not involved in serious accident as the whole view is blocked by the hood when it flipped.
I have never experienced this but we can imagine how scary it is to be going on highway speed and suddenly you can not see anything in front of you. This is the reason for them to install the pins/latch.
I was wondering how this can happened so suddenly. So i did a little research, the conclusion is quite simple it would most probably due to the OEM latch and secondary latch failed. Most of the time is the owner of vehicle was negligent in taking care to lubricate and check the latch until it is too late. Dry latch and spring will prevent the hood and latch from locking properly as it will be stuck (not engaged fully) and disaster waiting to happen.
I don't like the hood/bonnet pins as i prefer my car to look as much original as possible can. So instead of getting the hood pins, i will be looking for alternative to improve the locking system maybe with DIY modification that is not that visible. :P

Maintenance to the Hood Latch Components

After many uses and normal wear and tear, the hood latch mechanism has common areas of deterioration. The pull handle, often made of plastic can simply break. The cable can seize up inside the lining (usually on the end attached to the secondary latch where it's exposed to the elements). The secondary and safety latches can dry up being exposed to the elements and not release properly or may not return to the closing position require to close the hood properly. Although a hood release latch may allow you to open a car hood, if it is not functioning properly, it may prevent you from closing it. White lithium grease and regular maintenance are the two best friends a hood latch system has. A small amount of grease on each end of the cable (the interior side of the cable is protected against the elements of weather and deterioration so usually require little maintenance) to lubricate it and prevent it from seizing up inside the lining usually keeps the cable working well. If you wait until the cable is sticking or is seized altogether, you most likely will be too late for the maintenance of the cable and replacement may be required. White grease on the secondary and safety latches is also strongly recommended to keep the latches swinging on the riveted hinges.

Both the secondary and safety latches also integrate a tension spring. Keeping the springs lubricated helps them restore their tension. Keeping these components lubricated during every oil change will help provide longevity and reliability to the hood latch system.

Credit card way to bend 20-litre fuel cap rule

SOME Singaporeans have quickly found ways to circumvent the ruling allowing foreigners to buy only 20 litres of petrol within 50km of the border.

Sin Chew Daily reported that they would use credit cards issued by Malaysian banks to fill up.

Another way was to pay cash for the first 20 litres and use their credit card for the rest.

A third method was to fill up 20 litres from one petrol station and proceed to another for another 20 litres, reported the daily.

Some Singaporeans would fill up at a petrol station and return 15 minutes later to pump petrol again.

A petrol station employee in Tebrau said there was no way to check if the Singaporeans had already gone to a petrol station to fill up before they go to another petrol station.

Ha ha ha ha ha! This is not un-expected. The Petrol Station Owners will sell Petrol to Singaporean no matter what. This is Business so it has nothing to do with Citizenship.

If the Malaysian Gov really want to Curb the out flow of petrol to Singapore, it is actualy not hard. No you don't need to remove the subsidy (unless this is the excuse the Gov is looking for)! What Malaysian Gov and its whole Band of smart Gov people need to figureout is actually:

"HOW TO MAKE SURE SINGAPORE CARS HAVE FULL TANK OF PETROL WHEN THEY CROSSOVER TO MALAYSIA BORDER!"

Is that so hard? IF they have full tank when coming in then they will not be buying it to be used in Singapore! The GOV have a couple hundreds thousands of Degree Holders working for them, why not use these Brains or is "these" Brains Useless?

Ha Ha Ha Ha! (Of course the GOV could be using this as a scape goat to increase the Fuel price again, it that right?)

Auto Car Wash.

I really never fancied the auto car wash, but I have to use it this time. Don't have enough time to wash the car myself in this few days.
It was not 100% clean wash (there is still some area the machine can not wash (especially the back part of the car) may be due to the program is not correct. Each type of car have different dimension and to set the dimension into the auto wash is quite a task (Picking the correct program is important too, you don't want to see the roller bar come crashing into your car).
For RM3 it is still worth a try, i just need to use damn cloth to wipe some small areas.

(Need to add this info: Using the new 4-2-1 with straight flow, i get RM0.24 per KM. Mostly due to the heavy foot problem. Temptation to "step" on it is too great, hahahha. But now have to put back the S-flow for the coming travel.)

Saturday & Sunday KL Trip

Went to KL on Saturday and come back on Sunday for Wedding Dinner. Went to Sunway Pyramid (Can't find my son's Car) and then go to MidValley (Found the cars and bought 2).

Bought Another 2 units of MEGA Block Probuilder cars for my son. (The Red and Gold car, the Green one are bought in Ipoh). (Now he has 3 units)

KL-Ipoh trip Data (New 4-2-1 with S-flow):
Distance Traveled: 205km. (One way)
Highway speed: 110~120kmh. (Except some area with 90kmh limit)
Fuel Used: RM 30.
Mileage: 14.5 sen per KM or 14 Km per liter. (FC is guaranteed to be correct because I fill up before leaving KL and Fill up again after reached Ipoh).
This is my best FC so far although still can not beat IDSI. :P

Today I have just installed the HKS Muffler and I like the sound, the very bad resonance sound is no more (may be due to the new 4-2-1 header. The sound now is deep and toned, so now let's see how will the FC be in town driving with straight flow.

I was using 4-1: (Galvanized Steel, with Low Clearance) (Power comes after 3k~3.5k RPM)

Then Change to 4-2-1: (Stainless Steel, No more clearance issue) (Power starts at 1.5k~2k RPM)

After 2 Days: (Stainless Steel change color to Yellowish after Heated by Exhaust Gas)

Overall comment is 4-1 is very good for track and Drag as it power at top range is still better than 4-2-1. It does suffer in town driving due to need to maintain 3k RPM and Low clearance.

The 4-2-1 is more suited for town driving as the power starts at 1.5k~2k RPM and it does not suffer low clearance issue. The drive is smoother but less powerful on the TOP End RPM if compared to 4-1.

Yellowish mark can be used as a tell tale sign that a Stainless Steel header has been used before.

4-2-1 Header

I have changed my 4-1 header to a 4-2-1 header as my car is normally used as a daily drive and very less lapping it. The 4-1 is very effective in VTEC DRAG range (5k~8k) and the power is endless but under normal driving circumstances it is a bit rough for me.

So i started to source for a 4-2-1 to change the power band to mid RPM onwards which will sacrifice the top RPM performance compared to the 4-1. The long welded joint for 2-3 and 1-4 tubes, give me a good idea that this is good quality stuff.

After some time, I manage to find one unit of nice quality 4-2-1. It has good welding joints and made from Stainless steel which now has a yellow tone (after expose to heat the SS will yellow).

After installing it and drive home, i must admit the power does come earlier which is at 2k RPM and this is suitable for normal street driving. Plus there is more clearance to miss those speed bumps.

After searching on the NET i finally found that the unit actually almost replica the Spoon 4-2-1.
(Check out the long welding line joining the 2-3 and 1-4 tubes. Quite similar to the unit above?)

JOHOR BARU: Tan Shu Fang had her whole life ahead of her, but it came to an abrupt end after she succumbed to injuries due to a snatch theft.

The 17-year-old student from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Mutiara Rini 2 in Skudai breathed her last at 5pm on Friday.

The younger of two siblings never recovered from her coma after sustaining severe head injuries during the snatch theft nine days earlier.

The Sept 17 incident at Jalan Pendekar 1 in Taman Ungku Tun Aminah, Skudai, occured when Tan was riding pillion with her mother Leong Ah Kui, 53, on motorcycle.

They were heading to a nearby Public Bank to withdraw money to pay for Tan's tuition class fees. Two men on motorcycle approached the mother and daughter, and one of them snatched Tan's handbag.

Leong, who related the incident during a Press conference at the Skudai State Assemblyman Dr Boo Cheng Hau's service centre yesterday, said her daughter suffered a fit and began foaming in the mouth after falling backwards off the motorcycle.

She said passers-by helped to bring Tan to a nearby government polyclinic.

Tan, who was already unconscious at that time, was later transfered to the Sultanah Aminah Hospital's intensive care unit.

Prior to her death, Tan underwent two surgeries to treat blood clots in her brain.

"My hopes for her future are dashed now that she's gone. She was a bright stduent who wanted to further her studies at the tertiary level. Her life was cut short because of those criminals," said Leong, who could not contain her emotions during the Press conference.

Meanwhile, State police chief Datuk Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff said the police were tracing the two snatch thieves and would bring them to book.

"We are doing our very best to hunt them down," said Mokhtar. He urged those with information on the incident to contact the Johor police at 07-221 2999 or the nearest police station.

Snatch thief is a very serious problem in Malaysia. Has our GOV gone full force to combat this? If they can send multiple units of FRU and Police to Perak GOV and to Spray water cannon at Public demonstrator, why can't they put more effort in preventing snatch thief? We need Police to set up traps in area prone to sntach thieve. Normally the thief is drug addicts, how is our GOV doing in combating Drugs in Malaysia? We have multiple International Drug syndicate in our country, why are these people can walk like a free man here?

The last question is, does the girl wear a helmet? If yes, it is almost impossible to have a head injury serious enough to cause celerbral damage to the back brain. So to all Bikers, Please wear your helmet and secure it to your head properly.

I have just purchased 6 juvenile discuss from a forum ( http://www.discus.com.my/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=2431 ) member (Alan). They are a very good buy as all of them is very health and acclimate very easily to my tank. They all actively feeding on tetra bit just after 5 hours of getting into my tank. (I wass worried they would reject Tetra bit as they were fed using beef heart by Alan.

With the 6 juvenile banded Turquoise Discus added to the tank, now I have 7 Discuss, 4 Panda Cory, 2 Rummy nose Tetra and 1 Spotted Pleco in the tank.

You might find it weird that i have clean out the whole tank as it was a planted tank before. Well my tank was over run by green slime algae, it was my mistake to change both lamp bulb to Toshiba's. It was way too bright and contribute lots to the growth. I eventually clan up the tank removing the sand and stones and algae covered drift wood and plants. It is lot of work and was done in one day.It is easier to keep bare tank as i can just clean stuff of it and siphon it off.

Realigned the fog lights and Yellow bulb.

I just got my Fog lamp re-aligned and fitted with "Gold" yellow bulbs. Now it is really a good FOG lamp. I have no need to worry about rain or foggy area.
The 1st image (Before) is less yellow and the light merged to one due to alignment issue.
The 2nd image (After) is much more yellowish and the light beam have been aligned (can see 2 beams). At rainy time and Foggy time, the yellow beam is more useful compared to the white ones.

I finally managed to test the tyres in rain yesterday, the car can accelerate, corner and brake very well in rain....... the confidence level is higher than Neova. Feels almost same as dry grip, the only lacking is the slower steering response when compared to Neova. This is probally due to the softer side wall which privide good comfort and much less road noise. So for RM215 a peice, it is worth to grab it as a very worthy UHP Tyre. So now lets see if it wears well too. But with Thread 280, Traction AA, Temperature A, 195/55/15 85V (Max speed rating is 240kmh) you can't go wrong much.

I have finally got my Tyre installed. I need to budget and choose a tyre which is more suitable for outstation and have very good water displacement without hydroplaning the car XD. After reviewing online, I have stream lined to Either RE001 or Hankook V12 EVO (RS2 only for 16 inch above).

In Ipoh, 195/50/15 RE001 cost RM250 per unit while the 195/55/15 Ventus V12 cost ~RM225 per unit. I managed to find a shop that sells the Ventus V12 to me at RM215 without the tips (I have metal tips which still last). Got it (date code 2009) install for RM860 with balancing and alignment. After they have done, I drove it back to my work place. After work I directly go to find "Tall Guy" (Kou Low) at Jalan Dato Shell station for revalidation of the alignment, Camber and balancing. After he is done, the car fell smoother.

My initial evaluation of the tyre: For that price I paid, it is worth it. As I have only drove my car with Neova, i can only compare this tyre with Neova (initial eval). It has softer side wall. More water run ways for rain. Compare to Neova, V12 feels slightly less grippy and less responsive to steering input (But still in acceptable limit). It is more comfortable (absorb road bumps well) and quiet. I still need to test it in the rain (update later).

I have chanced on a set of Hella 530 Clear Fog lamps. It uses 55W 12V H3 bulbs as standard. As my car is lack of fog lamp and the original used unit is snapped up like hot cakes by the locals (imagine paying for RM250 for a pair of used Fog lamps), so i took it and got it installed by the shop selling it. I tested it at night near 12.30am when the petrol station have closed, they have a wall at a very dark corner for me to align the lights.
Now it is safer to drive in FOG, Rain or very dark roads as the view does have improvement.

The pictures says a thousand words. My Neova is near EOL..... hitting the safety limit. If you go back to old dated Blog, I start to use Neova since my odo is at 37k km (Around Feb~Mar 2008). It have served me well for 23k km or 18 months time. As you noticed, there is still thread on all 4 tyres but i am not willing to compromise the safety of my family so a replacement is on the way. I will keep these for special occasions if there will be any.

Price of RON 95 at RM1.80 from Tuesday (Update)

KUALA LUMPUR: The newly introduced RON 95 fuel is now priced at RM1.80 - five sen higher than the previous RM1.75.

Meanwhile, RON 97 is upgraded as a premium product and has gone up to RM2.05 from RM1.80.

Domestic Trade, Cooperative and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the new prices were decided based on the current method of Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM).

“Although the price is now 5 sen higher, the Government is still subsidising 33.81 sen per litre (of RON 95) which is equivalent to RM304mil monthly,” he told reporters after the launch of Primax 95 by Petronas here on Monday.

Currently, the Government is subsidising RON 97 by 42.72 sen per litre.

The cost for RON 95 went up 102% from USD$ 40.75 per barrel to USD$ 82.30 in December last year and August respectively.

“If there is any changes in the global prices, we would revise it accordingly. It is up to the Economic Council to decide.

“RON 95 also adheres to the EURO2M specification where it can lessen pollution,” said Ismail Sabri, adding that consumers would get quality petroleum at a subsidised price.

With the new pricing, Ismail Sabri added that RON 92 was phased out from the market as the usage was only 5% from total petrol sale in the country.

In April last year, then Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Shahrir Samad said the Government was considering the use of petrol with higher research octane number (RON) to reduce fuel subsidies without hurting the lower-and-medium income groups.

A higher octane number means higher resistance to engine “knocking”. “Knocking” could possibly damage the engine over time.

Petrol Dealers Association of Malaysia president Datuk Hashim Othman said petrol stations could easily recalibrate their pumps to adjust to the new price.

“With technology, all you need to do is push some buttons. It is almost automatic in most stations now, except for a few in the rural areas which are still using the manual system,” he told The Star.

He added that petrol dealers would make a slight gain with the price increase as they had bought their current stock at the old price.

“It is only a little as the price increase is small,” he said.

Timber Company Dismantle Bridge, Distruping Food supply to Poor Penan People

MIRI: The food shortage problem in central Sarawak has been worsened after a timber company dismantled an iron bridge that links up to 3,000 people living inside the remote areas.

Efforts to send food aid to the Penans have now been seriously hampered.

Yesterday, more than 1,600 packets of rice weighing 16,000kg were despatched by donors through the Catholic Church.

However, the food supply is stuck at the Sungai Asap settlement, about 50km from the Bakun Dam, as timber lorries used to deliver the food cannot cross the Sungai Linau after the dismantling of the bridge.

The timber concession area was earmarked for flooding this October to create a reservoir for the dam.

Reverend Father Sylvester Ding, aid collection co-ordinator, said it would take a long time to carry food aid across the river by boat.

“We are in a dilemma as to how to send the food to Lusong Laku settlement and SRK Lusong Laku where the food shortage is most acute.

“We have no choice but to seek help from the locals to transport the food across the river.

“We will also try to reach five other settlements near the Indonesian border by other routes. We hope the weather will be favourable, as it has been a few weeks since supply reached those in need,” he said.

The Star journalist who joined the food aid mission saw a truck laden with food items stranded at the Sungai Asap settlement.

On Aug 7, the timber company clarified that the iron bridge was only built in March, and that the Penans in the area had been able to travel to Bintulu or Kapit before the bridge was built.

The company spokesman also said it was untrue the natives in the interior would be cut off without the bridge, adding that the company had helped the local communities in various ways, such as helping them build longhouses or provide jobs.

The spokesman was responding to an earlier story in Sunday Star saying that the timber company planned to dismantle the bridge as it was pulling out of the area after completing its logging activities.

The decision was reported to have caused an uproar among the natives.

1) Why do the Timber Company have to dismantle the Bridge?

2) Does the Timber Company have the authority to build the Bridge?

Wiper Link Arm Repaired

I was having so much problem when raining due to the link arm over swing and hit the side of the wind screen rubber (worn out rubber bush). I have tried to look for a used 1/2 cut unit but they are bad also (It cost RM120), so i returned it. After some searching, i manage to find out that there is an OEM replace for the bush and linkage arm.
I immediately go grab one set for RM80 and return to the garage. I diy replace the linkage and the wiper is good now. Finally no need to worry about driving when raining at night.

Billet Plug Cable Cover

My engine does not have a plug cable cover when it was transplanted (possibly stolen). I have been driving the car for more than 1 year with this missing something feeling. It is not easy to search for a good bargain on hte B series plug cover. Carbon fiber unit cost RM280 (retail) and RM250 (2nd hand). OEM unit from chop shop is rare and quite pricey (More than RM120 for a so-so used unit). While searching online, I found a good deal. USD9.99 per unit in e-bay. The shipping cost is USD18. The price converted to MYR is 100.60 which is damn good deal for a billet CNC machined alluminium unit which was made in Taiwan/China. So i have it ordered. It reaches to my hands today. Now i need to find those 4 units of M6 "Acorn" hex nuts to complete the job. :)

Note: I use 2 cable tie to ensure the plug cable does not touch any of the hot metal surface and hold it in place.

Cooling Coil for Modern Cars.

New car now days have to take off the dash board just to remove the cooling coil. Check out the Hyundai (Inokom) Matrix which have to remove the whole dash board console. (Roughly will need 8 hours to complete the whole cycle as there is plenty of screw and bracket to remove and assemble.

Even Avanza have to remove dash board to change the cooling Coil, but the design is much better. It has less bracket and screw to remove. (Roughly need 3~4 hours to complete).

So I really like old design better as it only need to remove the glove box to change the cooling coil and it only need 1~2 hours max to complete. So what the hell is automotive engineers are thinking now days?

Fixed Cabin Noise Problem

I have this funny problem of having a strange noise when the car vibrates due to bump or whatever.... a weird ticking noise. So i have been hunting for the source of this sound for more than 2 months as it comes and goes away.
Finally today, I managed to find it. I tapped the door panel of the right front door and the left front door. The right door sounds solid but the left one have slight clinking sound. So I removed the floor panel and found the 4 screws locking the power window motor to the door is loose. I tighten the 4 screws and installed the door panel back on. After doing this, both doors have same tap sounds..."SOLID". I was so worried that it is some suspension issue, but lucky it is not :)

CAI Improved version (Full set Picture)

Needless to say, there is some flaw with my DIY CAI prototype and I finally have these flaw fixed today. Some of the issues are:
1) Intake dimension not fit to bumper hole (Fixed by changing new intake design).
2) Water and dust can was suck directly into filter box. (fixed by changing out let design to have gaps).
This is less than RM10 and snap fit, it is solid with 2" diameter anti collapse.

Update: Just tested it with OEM filter.... feel is good and expected power comes in after 2.5 RPM, ramp at 3k onwards till VTEC and goes wild. :) (I love it)

1 Minute Warm UP! (Tech tips)

I have came across an article Yesterday night on car warm up. It is interesting and actually enlightening to me. I used to warm up my car for more than 5 minutes everyday which is WRONG! Very wrong indeed and now wonder my FC is so bad.
For old carburetor engines, long warm up is ok (maybe good too). But for fuel injection engines, long warm up is a bad idea (Why? see below). So now I only warm up the engine for less than 1 minute and drive slowly to let the engine heat up gradually.

The vast majority of cars on the road today use electronic fuel injection. When your car’s engine is cold, the computer tells the fuel injectors to stay open longer, allowing more fuel into the engine to help it run cold. As the engine warms up, the injectors let in less fuel and everything returns to normal, so to speak.

The problem is, letting your car sit and idle is the slowest way to bring it up to operating temperature because it’s generally sitting in your drive at just above idle speed. And this method to warm up also invites other problems. Remember that modern cars are equipped with a multitude of devices to help them run clean, including a catalytic converter (sometimes three of them), a device in the exhaust system that works to burn off unburned hydrocarbons in the exhaust stream. A cold engine emits a far higher percentage of unburned hydrocarbons than a warm engine. Unfortunately, the average catalytic converter can’t process 100 percent of unburned hydrocarbons even in the best of times. Importantly, the catalytic converter needs high exhaust temperatures to work properly. Throw in a cold engine emitting a high percentage of unburned hydrocarbons, repeat several hundred times, and you can end up with what’s called a “plugged” converter. In a nutshell, the converter becomes overwhelmed and literally ceases to function. This won’t happen all at once but over time, the end effect is the same: poor mileage and significantly dirtier exhaust.

The best bet? Even when it’s 10 degrees F outside, start your car, let it run for 30 to 60 seconds to get all the fluids moving, then drive off gently. Your engine will warm up faster, your exhaust system will get up to temperature faster so the catalytic converter can do its thing, and you’ll use less fuel. Which is what you wanted all along anyhow, right?

If it's below zero outside, it would be a good idea to give the engine five minutes or a little less before you drive off into the frozen wilderness!

DIY Air intake Filter Update.

Finally I managed to find the comparable foam filter material. It cost RM25 for 1" X 2' X 3'. So I cut out one piece and prototype installed it to the HKS cartridge. I have also snap some pictures comparing the OEM filter vs the DIY re-furbished filter. After installing it, I can feel Air pulling into the DIY CAI opening. Will drive the car tomorrow to feel if there is any difference. If this works then it would be very economical for me to DIY install the material to any filter cartridge (OEM needs to be cut and modify a bith to prevent the foam filter from being sucked into the intake. Currrent HKS have the green barrier designed to it.

Update 30 July 2009: I have tested the Filter, indeed the air pull is much greater but there is a trade off. Dust and small particle (especially water droplets) can sip pass thru it. So my conclusion is Sponge filter does have improved air flow but it can only trap bigger sand particles. Dust and water droplets may escape. My verdict is "Go back to OEM filter", it is cheap and effective to filter if couple with CAI. (CAI does direct more air but it also carry dust and water droplets).

I noticed many comment on my air filter. I recently changed the air filter to Stock unit when i found out that the HSK unit (which comes with engine change) was gone. So I will be testing to rework it soon. I still need to get the filter sponge material as it is not easy to find compatible replacement.

Finally I managed to clean the 3 footer tank. I used to have more fish but most of it was dead. They jumped out of the tank due to fear (my son whack the tank with his hand when i was not around). So now i only have 1 Discus and 2 Rummy nose in the tank. I also found the tank infested with snails, so will be getting some loaches to help control the snail population. Will add more Discus after my son grew tired to whacking the tank.

The world now days is so full of these people who want to make it rich by cheating others. Below is some extraction from TheStar, that I think is important:

● REMEMBER, scam artists prey on your emotions, such as patriotism. Before you help an individual or a charity, take time to find out what you are getting into;

● Always ask questions. Find out what options are available. For example, if a caller informs you that you have won something, ask if they can confirm it in writing and a phone number to call them back;

I was hit once when I was in emotional limbo due to some personal problem and was approached by a "so call friend". Lucky for me the person is not an expert artist so my loss is minor compared to what I learned and experienced from this encounter.

A few weeks ago I was approached by someone offering investment plan for food outlet using prepaid card system, he sits down and explained the whole system to me. The key point is I could get more money by introducing more friend to join. If this was 2 years ago, I might have been hooked as the price is really cheap ranging from lowest 280+ to 1k. They even printed out the menu and shop lots which is real. But like the old saying goes "once Bitten twice Shy", I take it with a pinch of salt. I junked the pamphlet, brochures and name card the moment the introduction is over.

Today I read this in the Star (Sound exactly like what I heard before):
"Many of them operate under the guise of multi-level marketing operations which blur into pyramid schemes, which are illegal.

A market observer pointed out that these establishments would promise returns that even top fund managers found hard to attain in good economic times.

Many of them operate like Ponzi schemes which made no or little actual investments from money collected from the public.

Often in such schemes, the earlier investors would usually get some returns, compared with those who join later.

Surprisingly, many of those who are employed as agents with these businesses do not think such schemes are illegal.

“How can it be a scam when I can make money?” an agent attached to an established restaurant chain said.

The restaurant has half a dozen outlets in the Klang Valley and offers the public membership for a fee which entitles them to make money from eating at the outlets and through referrals.

What makes it interesting is that several of these establishments found taking deposits or cash from the public have been operating for a number of years without ever being questioned by the authorities if their operations are legal.

The left 'round' unit is HKS Straight flow.
The right Oval unit is Replica Mugen S-flow.

The combination:
1) Original 4-2-1 with S-flow ~ 9.4km/l.
2) Replica 4-1 with Straight flow ~ 6 km/l.
3) Replica 4-1 with S-flow ~ (Collecting Data)

I tested the 4-1 combination with the S-flow muffler versus the Straight-flow HKS muffler.
I found the S-flow muffler is better at town driving and better FC compared to the straight-flow HKS. The power and torque for (4-1 + HKS) only starts at 4k RPM onwards and climbs like crazy for VTEC. VTEC revs feels like limitless. Below 4k RPM is different story, loss of torque and power causes the car to feel so sluggish and FC to drive it in town is NUTS....more than RM0.28 per KM.
I changed back to the S-flow, right after the exhaust pipe cooled down.
I will still be keeping the Straight flow HKS for occasional needs..... hahahha (If you know what i mean).

Update: I went to Silibin to collect my nanobloks. The pick up of the car now is really nice and smooth. I really like it but not sure was it contributed by the 4-1 or the CAI? Or maybe combination of all the DIY and replacement parts together. I am happy :)

Bought a Book!

I have quite a few books on Fish rearing (I have 2 aquariums and have a few Discus, until my son start to knock the aquarium and scared them to death, i will buy a few more after my son grow tired of disturbing them :))
Weird enough that i bought a book again after some time. This time is actually an advise given by Mr KN Wong. "If you want to learn about automotive, you gotta have a good book." Normally i will just dig up internet and forums; but after looking a this book at MPH today, i found that information books is actually more systematically arranged so it is more easier to read and learn from it. I know i did annoy quite a few people in forum because i asked so many basic information which i can learn from book, sorry guys....... i won't be bothering you guys much anymore :) Thanks for all the help. I'll start reading and try to understand the fundamentals.
Hopefully i can understand it, it has been a while since i read an Engineering related books.

During driving the car some time, I noticed that the response of the car at 3k~5k RPM is really poor. After some research done on the Web, I found that changing the stock header (or called exhaust extractor may help). So went searching the part in IPOH.
Below is some of my findings:
1) Steel 4-2-1 for B16A. (Maker A)
- Price RM 280 and below.
- found poor welding quality, weld intrusion to the flow hole is more than 5mm.
- Tube and plate plate and hole mismatch more than 7mm delta.

2) Alloy Mugen Replica 4-1 for B18C. (Maker B)
- Price RM7x0+.
- Very good Argon welding, very good quality.
- have QC sticker label.

3) Steel Mugen Replica 4-1 for B18C. (Maker B)
- Price RM3x0+
- Good welding quality almost no welding intrusion to the flow hole
- Plate and tube hole mismatch is less than 3mm.
- minor flaw noticed on this unit (at the hole of the first primary tube) and solved by grinding.
- have QC sticker. (Confirm is same supplier as the No 2 header.)

Since i am not sure what the effect it, it would be crazy to dump 700++ on it. So i took the No 3 option. The result is good, the surge of pickup at 3k to 5k is noticeably improved. The engine is much more rev happy. I did not really push the car today so no comment yet, much of this is based on feeling. I have to thank James for recommending the 4-1 to me.
Note: Item (2) and (3) is from the same supplier so the design and workmanship is the same but only the material is different. Item (2) would be more a bling-bling to me me and both will fit as stock unit (no cutting or modification required) so no need to guess which one i took... Picture will tell. I even got my exhaust modified to enable me to swap the S flow or the straight flow HKS. Will put on the HKS straight flow on ONE fine and test it at Cameron :).

It is Fathers Day tomorrow, normally we celebrated mothers day more compared to fathers day. So this year, I was thinking how to appreciate my Dad (normally we did not fuss about it at all). Being a father myself (I have a 3 year old son), I know exactly how hard it is to be a Dad. It is not easy when you love your son but at the same time have to be good disciplinarian (it is important to have one in the family to control the kids behavior and normally that is Father's job scope). Most the children is more closer to mom than dad as mom is more forgiving and ever fulfilling but as I know now dads love theirs kid too as much or more than mom does. My is a strict disciplinarian, those who really knows me would know it. So this year, I and my wife made him this (see below), it may not be much; but it is pure from the heart and it take effort (not just go shop for a present). I hope he likes it.....

Cameron Highland Touge Visit

Today I went to Cameron Highland to visit my friend there. I need to get some Jagung and Some Honey. You may be laughing "Jagung?", "Honey?" what so special? He he heh.....
If you have tasted REAL Grade AA Jagung, you will be going back for more........
The honey is the one my Brother bought for me during his last visit to Cameron, i can not find anything like it in Ipoh Market (Believe me i have check all major superstore, chain grocery shop and even Chinese medicine shop. The price is not cheap too..... 400ml Glass bottle is RM22 each. They have economy pack one at 1kg at RM45 but it uses Plastic Container. (The owner tell me the higher cost for the 400ml is because of the bottle is more expensive, i do agree with her)
I was not exactly WOT all the way there except when i needed to over take some Big and slow Lorries and Buses. I was enjoying the touge breeze doing 110~80kmh all the way (except when blocked by traffic). During down hill I was doing 60~80kmh due to wet road, it was raining up hill. When there is traffic, i will make sure no incoming at all and 100% confidence only i will over take. While i trailing a lorry and an Iswara (did not dare to overtake the lorry), a black merce zoomed past. Man that person driving the car must be very desperate to super confident (my guess is the car was doing 120~140kmh, possibly a local uncle "Uncles drives pretty fast at Cameron"). Reached my wife work place safely and got home together, happy day for me :).

Note: I actually over shoot the place and almost ended near Tanah Rata, I do enjoy the hairpin though :). This place is near to Tringkap and before Tanah Rata (which is on the same road to Brinchang). You can look out for "188 Tourist spot on the right of the road as it is more visible. The Bee place is on the left of the road when you go toward Brinchang/Tanah Rata.

DIY OCT update!

Yup the DIY OCT does work after I reroute it to the PCV hose. Check out the Dirty Oil captured after 5 days. I think it can stand for 1 month until it is full. When it is full i just need to pour it out. Next month i will check the throttle body again, i think it will stay clean :)

Oil Temp 120-130degC is way way too hot for the oil to run. That corresponds to water temp of almost 140degC.
The general guideline in the US Honda tuning circle (e.g. Hondata) is to limit water temp to a max of 120degC. 110degC for oil temp is quite the limit. Some engine oil manufacturers claims that their oil can go to 140degC but you plan to run the engine oil at 130degC and above, then be prepared to get a warped cylinder head and burnt gasket in the very near future.
Stock PGM-Fi drastically richens the AF and retard the ignition once water temp hits 100degC. At 100degC, the ignition can be retarded by as much as 5deg.

The OEM water temp is a non-linear guage. It will be stable around the middle until around 120degC after which it will move drastically. Because the aftermarket water-temp usually places the sensor in the hose between cylinder head, it will often read different temperature than the stock sensor which is attached to the cylinder head. The stock sensor tends to overread since it is also being affected by the cylinder head which is hotter than the water. The aftermarket meter tends to under-read since water would have time to cool a little bit in the rubber hose. Also, be careful of low water level because that will lead to false low temperature readings.

Summary:
1) Oil Temp (Try to limit below 120 degC).
2) Water Temp (Try to limit below 110 degC)
3) Go and get Water temp meter (critical) and Oil Temp meter (less critical) if plan to track the car.

Finally I have got the last Ground Wire installed to the Alternator housing (Becareful not to short it on the +ve terminal attached to the alternator. (Pic 1)
Engine Valve Head Breather was rerouted away from engine body to reduce heated air intake. (Pic 2)
The PCV hose modded to an 'el cheapo' OCT (Iswara petrol filter) and it is routed next to the original air intake box to reduce exposure to heat. (Pic 3)
Now the Engine revs is much smoother and willingly (maybe it is just a feeling because no DYNO proven)
Pic 4 shows the air bleed nut on honda engines. If you fill up empty radiator or suspec there is air bubble trapped in the engine water ways, just open this nut and fill the radiator with water until the water flow out from this nut outlet.

Got some time to kill so went to Jusco and buy a toy car for my son. Actually I bought 2; 1 is for my collection.
It is No 50 Nissan Fairlady Z Racing Type at ~RM9 each.... that is a steal. This is the first TOMY car I bought which requires to apply additional Sticker. Looks ok ya? The headlight are made of plastic piece, normally they will just use chrome plating.

Finally I have the time to DIY install the Ground Wire kit (except alternator wire) and the Engine Valve Head/Cover breather.

Installed the kit to:
1) Near Valve cover/Head.
2) Near Distributor.
3) Near the Bulkhead/Firewall.
4) Gear box.
5) Ground wire cluster attached to engine.
6) TBD (Alternator) "Can't be reached from the top :( "

Take a look at the Original ground wire (there is only 2 big ones which i can see), so it is much safer for me to have the additional ground wire and the potential benefit is that it may correct any faults due old chassis poor grounding (Don't forget that my car is already 17 years old).
1) Battery -ve terminal to car body.
2) Car body to Gear Box.

(Black is Original ground wire) (Blue is the new ground wire kit)

The breather is the easier one of the DIY. I found that the car's throttle body is oily and dirty so I take the opportunity to clean it. I attached an petrol filter to the breather just in case any oil/dirt/water needs to be trapped.

Most of the OLD cars have problem with chassis grounding. The only solution to this problem is having additional ground wire in your car. Points to ground (near these places):
1) Alternator.
2) Engine Head/Valve Cover.
3) Distributor.
4) Bulk head (Ground terminal at the fire wall).
5) Body Chasis/Fuse box terminal earth.

Teacher loses RM138,000 in well-organised scam after helping widow

KUALA LUMPUR: A teacher lost about RM138,000 to a Black Money scam syndicate after she helped a widow “save” her money.

Noraini Ahmad, 39, from Ipoh said she was approached by a woman who identified herself as Mrs M. Sulak on Jan 18, asking her for help over US$22mil (RM81mil) in cash left behind by her late husband in his will.

She said that Sulak, supposedly from England, claimed that she was all alone and needed someone to “take care” of the money.

“I was genuinely concerned for her and gave her my particulars and photograph which she later forwarded to her lawyers.

“I did not know then that I had allowed myself to be conned in the scam,” said Noraini when met at the Commercial Crime Investigations Department (CCID) office in Bukit Perdana.

She said she was later contacted by a man claiming to be Sulak’s lawyer who told her that she was to inherit US$22mil left behind by Sulak, who had died of cancer.

The man, who called himself Mr Steven Graham from a law firm in London, contacted her several times.

“He said that to sort out some paperwork, I had to bank in RM35,500 to a CIMB bank account under Steven Graham’s name which I did in several payments,” she said.

Noraini met up with two men, purportedly from London on March 14, one of whom claimed to be an officer from Abbey National Bank and the other a “diplomat” from the United Nations Security Unit in London who was checking on the “authenticity” of transfer.

They told her that the cash was kept in a security vault in Ampang and to have it released, Noraini had to pay another RM27,500.

“They also told me that the notes were special and needed to be washed with a special liquid cleaner,” she said.

“Later the same day, they demonstrated to me by “washing” several US currency notes and gave me US$300 (RM1,050). They said to change the notes at any moneychanger,” she added.

Noraini said she was convinced that the deal was genuine after she changed the notes. So, when the men asked her for another RM75,000, she paid them.

Later, they told Noraini that due to some complications at the vault, the money had been ‘frozen’ and that they had to buy new liquid from Singapore.

“They also asked me to pay another RM75,000 to buy the liquid as there was something wrong with the previous purchase,” she said.

“It was then that it struck me that I had been tricked.

“It was a well-organised scam in which they had baited me from the very beginning,” Noraini said.

She urged Malaysians to be careful, saying: “I am a teacher and yet I was tricked out my life savings.

“They can be very convincing but from this experience, I have learnt that we cannot let ourselves be fooled.

“We must always check with the authorities for verification,” she added.

The Star frontpaged a report yesterday that Malaysians had been conned of as much as RM20mil by African tricksters in the past few years in at least 11 internationally-known scams ranging from Black Money to inheritances which promise non-existent wealth.

Not sure if this story is real or not but if this is true then may be this person is "GREEDY" and "Stupid". It is easier to stirke a lottery than to have some one you know for may be a few months to give you a few Million Bucks.

So Bottom line is: "Don't be Greedy". Cherish and treasure what you have now.

It is like giving up a bucket of Silver for a 'Promise' on a Mountian of Gold.

Trapped at Jusco Autogate

I was trapped at JUSCO Kinta City Autogate for more than 1/2 hour due to 'Black out' in Ipoh Garden area. The autogate won't work and there is no backup power supply which is enough to sustain the system. I was disappointed that Kinta City management had failed to contain the problem in less than 1/2 hour. They should have anticipated that power failure in Malaysia is quite common due to power cable theft, poor maintenance and other kind of nonsense reasons. I believe the losses on this night is quite high as the cashier system, most of the customer just dump thier trolley and walked out frustrated. This means extra work for the workers to place back al the items and clean up the area. Theft is also possible since the RFID scanning device failed to function.
So the point is "Please get a better BACKUP system".

So far only HYT the only person smart enough to pull this off and but now she need to have body guards following her and her family. So it is almost the same as staying in a luzurious prison and just waiting to carry out orders like pizza delivery girl..... No self esteem and no true friends.

I did some wash and polishing on my Honda since i have some time to kill. Use turtle wash and wax to wash the car. Apply 2X coating of Turtle Wax Platinum, check out the wet look and reflection. I found that Turtle Wax Platinum will bring the color out while ICE will bring the Gloss out. I am using both but ICE will be use when i have less time as it is more forgiving with no residue.

PUTRAJAYA: The Court of Appeal has declared Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir the rightful mentri besar of Perak in a unanimous decision.

It granted Zambry his appeal against an earlier High Court decision declaring Datuk Seri Mohd Nizar Jamaluddin as the rightful mentri besar of Perak.

As expected BN won the court ruling, lets see how well they run Perak for 3+ years before the next GE.

Well it was quite fun to be there. I am not really into drag competition but it is a good experience to burn some rubber on Tarmac. Basically drag race is dominated by lighter and more powerful car compared to the driver. The main driver skill is to control shift timing for each gear. It is great to see so many EG, EK, and other Honda cars at one go. We have shared some small tech chat. It is seems that it is quite easy to improve my car engine. What i need? Simple: B16B CAMs, Adjustable CAM Pully, Adjustable FPR, JASMA extractor and if possible E-manage/Hondata... How much? ~ 5k should be enough.... Crazy huh?.....

Actually it is good to have more powerful car, but i still prefer Touge and Track driving.... I did some free running on that track and the curves are very nice. Althou the car is slow, i enjoy ever bit of it :P

Malaysia confirms first case of A(H1N1) flu (Update)

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia on Friday confirmed its first case of the A(H1N1) flu in a 21-year-old student who returned from the United States on Wednesday morning.

All passengers on the Malaysia Airlines flight MH091 from Newark on Wednesday are urged to contact the Health Ministry by calling 03-88810200 or 03-88810300

Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said the case made Malaysia the 36th country to be affected by the virus.

This means that Malaysia has one confirmed case of H1N1 coming from a 21 year old male student who came back from the USA recently. This also indicate that the whatever Airport screening that was done is NOT effective.
H1N1 main trait is Fever, sore throat, Body ache which is very similar to common flu.
Word of advise is please do not go out so much, try to stay at home and avoid contact with anybody which seems to have flu. A bit paranoid right, but imagine if you son is infected. Then you would wish have stayed home instead of a stupid visit to the mall or shopping complex.
This thing transfer like normal flu and it means it can go air born when cough, saliva, tears and other body fluid.
If you have flu (even common flu) please take MC and stay home till you recover. This is what I did the last 3 days. I do not want to infect my colleague.
If you think of going to work when sick just to show the company how hardworking you are, then you are very naive and put the whole company at risk. Be smart.

NOTE: The Aircraft is a '772' which can load 300 passengers. If MAS just give the list of passenger affect, it is easier for the health ministry to track the potential people?

When the RON95 petrol is introduced from Sept 1, RON97 petrol will cost RM2 per litre.

Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the fact that RON97 will be at a higher price has raised concern among the public but what most did not understand was that RON95 would become the grade of petrol that everyone would use.

“For many, even luxury and high-powered cars, RON95 is good enough. Malaysian consumers are currently using petrol which is of higher quality that what consumers get in other countries,” he said.

“And the best thing is, RON95 petrol, which is almost similar in quality to RON97, is cheaper. Meaning, consumers will be paying less for good quality fuel compared to now.

“The public should not be worried about the higher price of RON97 because it will become an alternative product,” Ismail Sabri said after chairing his ministry’s post-Cabinet meeting yesterday.

Dear Minister, Who are you kidding?
RON95 will be priced at RM1.75 which is only RM0.05 cheaper than existing RON97 petrol (current price is RM1.80 per liter). This new RON95 will be more expensive then the RON92 too. So RON92 users will now be forced to pay more for the RON95 petrol once it was phased out. Existing RON97 user will have to pay RM2.00 per liter which is 'Bloody' 11.1% increase in price.
In general our Rakyat will be paying MORE for petrol and you called this saving? What are u thinking? Do we look stupid? How can the Gov help the rakyat? By increasing the petrol price?
Please publish a list of car and engine which can use RON95 safely without 'knocking' or 'detonation' problem and we shall see how many is affected.
If this continues, the current GOV days are numbered. We shall let you know in the next election.
BTW: What is the stupid excuse for this price hike? Please don't make us laugh by saying "this is to BENEFIT" the people of MALAYSIA". We all know this is NOT TRUE.

Bad week for ME, Lucky Not H1N1 :)

I was down 3 day with Flu, Fever, Sore throats, dry cough and body body ache since Monday. Today only the flu has topped, my body keep having fever and it comes and goes every now and then. I was worry if i would be the 1st Malaysian to get the H1N1. So i went to see the doctor again and she says i am all clear as the flu has stopped and my body temperature is around 38~39 degC. H1N1 flu will not stop and the temperature will go up to 39~40degC consistently. Boy a I relieved to hear that. Any way I am still stuck in the house and have not gone out except to visit the doctor and my body is feeling very worn and sore. Hope i can recover by tomorrow.
I am just glad this is not the H1N1. :P

Zambry compares himself to Mandela, Gandhi

IPOH: Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir, whose nearly three-month tenure as mentri besar was ruled illegitimate by the Kuala Lumpur High Court on Monday, has likened himself to Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Gandhi.

Warning Pakatan Rakyat not to under-estimate him, he said the High Court’s “shocking decision” did not mean he would give up the fight.

“To me, losing the mentri besar post will not reduce my fighting spirit in upholding the truth.

If reinstated Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin and his “friends ... assume that the High Court’s decision will dampen my spirit, then they have read me wrong,” he said in a blog entry early Tuesday morning.

He said a person did not need to hold a post in his struggle to uphold the truth, and likened the recent struggles faced by him and his “comrades from the Barisan Nasional” to those endured by politicians like Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Gandhi.

“Nelson Mandela sacrificed his freedom for 27 years in order to free South Africans from the grip of ‘apartheid.’

“Gandhi also sacrificed his life for the sake of India’s independence and so his people would be able to live without caste or religious boundaries,” he said.

Dr Zambry said however that it was lucky for him that his struggles had not caused him physical harm or loss of freedom.

Wow! Such a dumb outburst. Please understand that both Mandela and Ghandi has the full support of the citizen in their country, you in the other hand do not have the support from the people of Perak itself. (please go buy some history book and read before making such statement or is this some kind of joke?)

How could you be physically harmed or have freedom taken away from you?You are the one with the bigger stick (using FRU and police) to put physical harm and take the freedom of PR supporters. We did not see how PR supporters need to be treated in the high handed method? We did not see any riot, we did not see any agressive display of character?

RON97 to cost more after Sept 1.

Petrol price: RON97 to cost 20sen more

PUTRAJAYA: The price of premium grade petrol RON97 will be increased to RM2 per litre from Sept 1 onwards, 20sen more per litre, when RON95 becomes available nationwide.

RON95 petrol and Euro 2M grade diesel is expected to the market by Sept 1.

Former Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Shahrir Samad had said in March that the prices for both upgraded fuels would be the same as the previous grades.

The higher grade RON95 will replace RON92 petrol but will be sold at the same price as the lower-grade petrol.

This is bad news indeed. We until today was never given a full briefing on the petrol price control policy. Why raise the price while it should be lower? How many type of cars can use RON95? Using lower RON petrol may cause 'Knocking issues' in the car engine. So is this the time some one will set up a company to sell RON Boosters?This is the number 1 reason why we need more opposition in the parliment to check and balance the implemenatation of stupid policy in our county. Petronas register losses every year but pays its staff like crazy rich? Where is the pay cut? Force leave?

Finally something that does show that we are no longer live in the stone age which the BIGGER Club (he can bash anyone he likes) holder wins. I was hoping our PM is not interfering. If the does, he will loose all the salvaged creditability that he has right now. The funny thing is the BN team is still delusional on this, can not accept the fact that they have more seat but their MB is not legal. The way I see this is that, this whole episode was a trap laid by DSAI (he only talked but not done anything) and BN took the bait. This event nearly crippled the entire legal system, the royal house and the image of BN in the eyes of the people in the world. If you have read new online from other countries, you will know what i am speaking about. We are being laughed at like a clown on the stage by the whole world. Please never belittle the Rakyat, we know our rights.
Nizar had won very much of the trust in the People of Perak in this episode of power grabbing. I remembered that how skeptical was many of us when Nizar was elected as MB of Perak and not DAP. But now, our view changes when we see his wisdom and knowledge. His creditability now supersedes DSAI, and in the world of politic the person who owns the heart of the people will be successful. He has shown much diplomacy by wanting to have the RE-election instead of using his power to fire everyone (except the Back stabbing SOB state legal advisor, i will sack the state sectary too if i were him .
Now HYF, where do you want to go? Have you buy ticket for your entire family to Canada/Australia/New Zealand perhaps? Have fun! LOL

To be Honest to our self, our Ipoh Dewan (House) is pathetic. All this quarreling, ruckus and non-sense action like a 3 year old child is giving shame on the people of Perak. We believe only if the Sultan intervene and dissolve the State assembly and return the power of choice back to the rightful rakyat, then only this issue can be solved for once and for all. Else we will see more of this soon enough, 'everybody' on Perak (including my self) is now a Laughing Stock........

Perak pandemonium: I had the power, says Hee

IPOH: Perak Deputy Speaker Hee Yit Foong maintains she had the power to take over proceedings from ousted Speaker V. Sivakumar during Thursday’s controversial State Assembly.

“When the Speaker is unable to handle the proceedings and the Assembly reaches a deadlock, I have the power to take over.

“Article 36A(1)(b) of the Perak Constitution gives me that power,” she told a press conference here Friday.

Article 36A(1)(b) states: “The Legislative Assembly shall from time to time elect a Deputy Speaker from among members of the Legislative Assembly.”

The Jelapang assemblyman urged the public to understand that she was only doing her job when she took control of the House after Barisan Nasional assemblymen voted on a motion to sack Sivakumar on Thursday.

“I was only performing my rightful duties -- I neither abused my powers nor grabbed the Speaker’s power,” she claimed.

Meanwhile, other female assemblymen from Barisan who were present during the press conference said that the Speaker of the House was not above the law.

Hulu Kinta assemblyman Datuk Rusnah Kassim said Pakatan Rakyat assemblymen themselves admitted that the Speaker’s powers came from the legislative assembly.

“I do not deny that the Speaker has powers. But I asked the Opposition -- ‘Where does the powers of the Speaker come from?’ And they said that it came from the Dewan (House).

“Since the Speaker was elected by the majority of the House, his powers are also determined by the majority of the House, which Barisan has,” she said.

Sungai Rapat assemblyman Datuk Hamidah Osman said Sivakumar was only the Speaker because of the power given to him when the Pakatan had the majority in numbers in the House last year.

“Now that we (Barisan) have the majority, with 28 assemblymen and three supporting independents, we have the right to introduce a motion to remove him,” she said.

She added that Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Zambry Abd Kadir had lawfully used his powers under Standing Order 13(2) to move an emergency motion in the House without giving notice to the Speaker.

“The Speaker had no power to reject that motion -- the decision should be made by the Dewan in a democratic way,” she said.

What power do u have? You were sacked from deputy speaker, remember? (That was even before the 'New' MB was sworn in). Since when were you re-elected? To remove the speaker, I believe there is an official notification. where is it?

Please be reminded that you NO LONGER represent the people of Perak, the people of Jelapang. We have more respect for Dog on the street. If you don't believe us, just let us know where you want to hold an open dialogue with the Rakyat. We will be there to tell you.

Do you still dare to go to the morning market or the pasar malam? Do you dare to go to the shopping complex (no need much, just go to Jaya Jusco)? Do you still dare to sit down in any coffee shop to drink coffee? Where is your freedom? Whee is your life? Where is your family's freedom and their life?

You may have money but you have no life. Not any different from being a prisoner at your own house. So please shut up your big mouth as everything coming out stinks! Don't believe? You can ask others :)

The MOST Disgraced Person from Perak!

Please remember this face. She is the most disrespected and hated MP in History of Malaysia. A simple Google search will land you to read about her. Nobody in Perak will respect this person and her family member. She is not welcomed by any community in Perak. I am not sure how could she serve as MP of Jelapang if everybody here hates her and curse her entire family member (especially her husband as well). What use of a MP if this person does not have the heart of the RAKYAT? Well.... we shall see. It was lucky that no one posted her family picture, else her children and grandchildren or future great grandchildren will not be accepted in the Chinese community of Malaysia. Most probably the best Idea for her is to migrate to other country with her entire family. That is why she has bodyguard following her around. Please stop saying your family member is victim, if i were your family member; i would dis-own you on Newspaper.

Her famous statement "DAP did not want me" is wrong.... Reality is "The Rakyat of Perak (especially Jelapang) do not want YOU and will never Forgive YOU and your family". The shame you brought to the Chinese community in this country will never be cleansed.

"Officals" involved in Politics.... (only in Malaysia?)

Picture taken from NST online. Let us all remember how the PERAK speaker was removed from the sitting. When you have no solid reason and no law to back you up, you use FORCE. This picture will be imprinted in the heart of people in Perak and is much more worth to be remembered than the one above (Perak social reject).

2.55pm: The same group of 'officials' escort Ganesan to the speaker's chair and the speaker then started chairing the sitting.

2.41pm: Several uniformed police personnel grab hold of Sivakumar and forcibly remove him from the speaker's chair. (Picture on the left)

He was then dragged out of the House by a group of plainclothes personnel wearing tags which read 'official'. Sivakumar resists and shouts, "I am the legal speaker. Why am I being treated like this?" It cannot be ascertained if these were police personnel.

Pakatan reps try to shield him but more plainclothes personnel enter the House and manage to breakthrough the human barricade.

Several Pakatan reps are also dragged out and the ensuing melee sees several flower pots in the assembly are smashed.

Just as expected, BN have the Speaker removed. And the 'New" Speaker has to be escorted to the chair.

PERAK POLICE FORCE

10.25am: Contrary to the chaos inside the assembly, the situation outside the state secretariat building is much calmer with the police successfully dispersing the crowd.

The police have widened the no-go cordon, as a result the coffees shops are deserted.

Earlier the police ordered all those having drinks in the restaurants to leave immediately. Many left without paying for their drinks. Two refused to budge and were arrested.

I do wonder what was the justification for police have to vacate the coffee shop? Maybe the owner of the coffee shop can sue the police later or demand couple of thousand of ringgit for loss of income? Can the police in Malaysia do anything they want without regards to the law? If they do this, who is up holding the law? The Rakyat? Then why do we even need police if they can not be depend on? As far as we know, the court only ordered a 500meter vacate but Coffee shops outside this perimeter is vacated by police, why?

Several major roads in Ipoh closed to traffic

IPOH: Several sections of all major roads leading to the Perak state secretariat building will be closed to traffic for the state assembly sitting tomorrow.

Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Azisman Alias said roadblocks would be set up at the Jalan Panglima Bukit Gantang Wahab-Jalan St John junction and near the Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman flyover from 9pm tonight.

He advised motorists to follow instructions from the police who would be on duty to divert traffic at Jalan Lim Bo Seng, Jalan S.P. Seenivasagam, Jalan Kompleks Islam and Jalan Istana.

ACP Azisman said motorists heading towards the city from Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman would be diverted to Jalan Raja Musa Aziz.

“Motorists heading towards the Medan Kidd bus station from Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman would be diverted into Jalan Tun Abdul Razak,” he said in a statement yesterday.

He said all motorists from the city heading towards the state secretariat building would be diverted into Jalan St John.

“Motorists heading towards the city area from Jalan Silibin will have to use either Jalan Raja Musa Aziz or Jalan Tun Abdul Razak. Those using Jalan St John would be directed into Jalan S.P. Seenivasagam,” he added.

ACP Azisman said all affected roads would be reopened to the public tomorrow afternoon.

We all know what the outcome will be and is it necessary to close the road which was linked to the main town and 2 schools? This is extreamly unconvinient to the Rakyat as we need to go on our daily chores. This also show how BAD BN need to win and win they shall be BUT without GLORY and with SHAME. We expect 5 years will be given back to BN again and if they failed once more to capture the heart of the Rakyat. Then we shall see the effect in the ballot box again. I do not expect the Rakyat to go all out to protest the high handed method that BN had used as we have dignity of an educated and well brought up person. We have wrongly voted once for YF Hee and this is the outcome. 1 loose end which will be tied in the next EC.

Fried Oyster

Yesterday Nite, has supper with my family. Due to my overweight problem, i was cutting food. But the temptation of this is a bit too much. Oyster on banana leaf. I took a few bites and it is good, not too wet and not too dry + oyster is fresh. This stall does not use much msg, as i do not feel thirsty after eating it.
The photo was taken after we started to eat, sorry as i forget to take a photo when it is served.

2) It is a ONE owner car and the owner really takes care of it.

Phone Holder DIY

Over the weekend I DIY the phone holder for my N82.
Item used: Recycle Gauge stand (former Oil press gauge stand), Phone hard cover (buy from Yik Fong) and double side tape. This stand is quite sturdy and i think your phone will not fall down (Like TK's phone :)... Just Joking). If you want to mount it on the dash, stick the gauge stand on the dash and then only stick the plasticd hard cover to ensure your phone is straight. Make sure you cover the plastic from direct sunlight else it will melt.

Fold Down when not using GPS. (Can place phone on it when using loudspeaker).

Fold Up when using GPS. (Need to use Allen Key to release and tighten the gauge holder screw).

N82 (AP or Original, which one will you buy?)

I need to get a better phone so i was looking and saw the N82. (I remembered TK has one and I can know for sure the camera and video is acceptable quality)
The question is should I get the AP (RM1k) or the Original (RM1.3~1.4k)?

The feature I like is:
5 MP Camera with Xenon Flash.
GPS with good lock on and response.
Hot swap memory card.
Direct TV Out.
Wifi (Browsing and IM chat)
30 fps Video.
Update: I bought the Original :)

K20A is possible for SR4/EG (5th Gen Civic)

This engine alone will set one back by at least RM20k~25k. The infamous K20A in 5th Gen Civic. But i guess this can not be done legally as the displacement is 2.0l where max for this model is only 1.6l which can be upgrade legally to 1.8l only.
